Natural dyestuffs from Antiquity to modern days

Abstract

Since a long time that mankind uses of dyes for recreational purposes.They had been used to color different goods but manly to dye clothes and other textiles. This paper presents some of the most used dyestuffs since Antiquity to nowadays, obtained from vegetal or animal sources. It also presents the plants, or animals, from where they were extracted, their major components and chemical structures.
